"The Other Side of the Sun"

Today I saw,
The other side of the sun. 
Dark and bitter.
Clawing at anything
Reflecting the light. 
I saw the dejection,
Masked by bravado - 
A stern look,
A harsh word, 
The alter ego of,
A man I love.
Funny and attentive,
Where is he now?
Hidden by a
Wall of protection, 
Built from rejection, 
And a wound never healed.
On the other side.
