Ask AunT

Dear AunT,

Q: How do you know if you're in an actual relationship?

Signed: L.C.~Seriously Need to Know

A:  When you meet a person and you are attracted to him/her, there’s a light, glow, smile, and much more that goes through your body and mind. When you proceed to the next step of introducing yourself and wanting to know more about that person, you are showing an interest. That interest should lead to a few questions and a Meet & Greet/Date. This is your opportunity to let the person know what you are looking for; such as a relationship or hangout partner.
This doesn’t mean that on the first date, you pull out the list of rules, but you are setting the tone for what you are desiring. This gives the person an idea of your expectations. That is why honesty, in the beginning, is extremely crucial! Then AFTER dating (however long you both agree on), you should be able to have that conversation about the status of your relationship; exclusively dating each other, dating other people, bedroom buddies, coffee buddies, etc… Just make your expectations clear from the beginning.

Until next time, I’ll chat with you later.

Love ya,
